Welcome! Please Introduce Yourself

Welcome to our community! We’d love to learn a little about what has brought you here.

  1. I was just recently diagnosed with stage 3B CKD. I was also told that my right kidney has atrophied. The only thing that I have been told by my doctor so far is only take Tylenol for pain, no other over the counter medications, and we will just keep an eye on it. Am I being needlessly concerned?

    1. Hi , thanks for taking the time to share your experiences. A new diagnosis can be overwhelming and it's normal to be concerned. Finding the right management plan for you and early detection is important. When is your next appointment with your doctor? It may be worth having a conversation with your doctor to share your concerns and explore other ways you can be more actively involved in your kidney care. In the meantime, you may find this article to be helpful: https://chronic-kidney-disease.net/moderate-stage. It has some information about stage 3B. This article also might be helpful, as lifestyle changes can help prevent future kidney damage: https://chronic-kidney-disease.net/lifestyle-changes. If you have access to one, a renal dietitian may also be a great resource for some of the lifestyle changes. I hope this may help. Please keep us updated on how things go, if you feel comfortable doing so. Thinking of you, Minel (Team Member)

    2. Hello , Just checking in to see how you are doing? Were you able to see a doctor to see what was going on? Thanks for sharing. Diane (Team Member)

  2. I was just diagnosed with Stage 3. I knew something was not right with me, but never in my life thought it was CKD.
I am so tired all the time. On top of that, I have hypothyroidism.

    1. Hi , welcome to the community! Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself. A new diagnosis can be quite shocking. I hope you're taking some time to process everything. I'm sure fatigue from CKD + hypothyroidism is a lot as well. Has your healthcare team been helpful so far? Please know the community is here for you if you have questions or need support. Thinking of you, Minel (Team Member)
