Do You Know That 9 Out Of 10 People Have Chronic Kidney Disase, But Don't Know It?

I didn't have a clue. I guess the answer is why? So many of us live with obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, etc.

Maybe it's just me, but maybe this should be a part of our yearly exams. We start having symptoms in our 20's, but we don't get a diagnosis until we hit our 50's and 60's.

We shouldn't have to hear that we have CKD when the end is near, or when we have to make drastic lifestyle changes.

We would like to hear your thoughts on this.

  1. How did you find out that you had chronic kidney disease?

    1. Blood Test

      1. Hello , Thanks for chiming in. My doctor had done a blood test on me also. But they never mentioned that I had CKD. I found out by reading my medical records and then I took action. Have you had many discussions with your doctor on this subject? Diane (Team Member)

        1. Yes I know and believe it, I used to be one of them. Getting blood work for kidneys and liver for years and yet I wasn't informed until it was too late.

          1. , I know how you feel. I got my first chronic illness at 5 years old. I am now 66. I have always been in a doctors office, but no one told me something was happening to my kidneys. With so many people getting diagnosis, you would think things would be better. How are you doing? Diane (Team Member)
