CKD: Born With Pelvic Kidney

I was born with a pelvic kidney. I didn't learn this until I was 60. I used to get pain in my stomach. Mom said, "You have a cold in your stomach." So I would put a hot water bag on it and it went away. Little did I know, my kidneys were the problem. As I grew up, I had a lot of kidney problems and UTIs. Only when I was hospitalized for a kidney infections, did I find out I had a pelvic kidney. At that time I was 60 yrs old. I had chronic kidney disease (CKD). Now I'm 74 and still fighting.

I was upset because noone found it earlier in my life. Now I was 60 to old to make a difference. I thought But life and God makes a difference. I now found CKD and life is good. I drink alot of nettle tea .Doesn't taste good. But it works. Now I'm 74 still living life. Thanks to God.

 Hello <inline-mention username="Lyndee" user-id="8401224"/>, I must say I get the frustration of not finding out earlier, as I was confused about why I found I had CKD when I was stage 3 or that it was a genetic disease. But I'm happy to hear your life is good and that nettle tea helps you, Amazing your 74, positive and how strong-willed you are. Thanks, Sabad.

I'm still doing good. I went from Stage 3 A to Stage 3B I still am drinking nettle tea. Life is a hard road for all people, so I just keep going.

 Hello <inline-mention username="Lyndee" user-id="8401224"/> , Thanks for responding. Did your doctor ever tell you what was affecting your kidneys? Mine was high blood pressure and diabetes. I have them both under control now and looking forward to getting off medication. At my last kidney doctor appointment, he said my numbers had improved. I will continue to eat right and exercise to live a long life like you are doing and have a positive attitude. You have to tell us more about kettle tea. It seems to be helping. Diane (Team Member)
