How can loved ones support someone with CKD?

I know for me it's surely a family thing to support each other. My father, youngest son, cousin, husband, and myself have all been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease.

You can always volunteer to go with them to dialysis appointments or just make a kidney-friendly meal. Everyone needs their house cleaned, see if there is something you can help out with. I know the learning lesson for me was to listen and not offer my opinion all the time. Sometimes people just need someone to vent to.

Is there someone special you want to give a shout-out to for just showing support?

I will go first. I want to say thank you to my youngest son who does dialysis 7 days a week, works a full-time job, and takes care of his family. He is the most upbeat positive person that I know. When I grow up I want to be just like him.
