Why It Can Be Good To Have A Positive Mindset

What if you are told you have a chronic health condition like chronic kidney disease? What if the doctor tells you that they do not know the outcome? Being diagnosed with a chronic health condition is not necessarily the end of your life. What counts is how you handle the news of your diagnosis, the support you receive from those around you, and your perspective.

Building your support team

When I was diagnosed with CKD, I made sure to surround myself with people who could help me overcome negative thoughts and self-pity. You will need a team of competent and confident doctors and nurses who have extensive experience with these conditions. I had to rely on strong family members with an optimistic outlook. I wanted them to tell me that everything would be okay.

My team of experts and confident caregivers assured me that I was getting the best quality care. This helped me maintain my spirit and well-being. Trust me, you will need positive and encouraging family and friends. They help me to navigate the treatment journey successfully.

The importance of hope and mindset

I had to have hope, in addition to the support of doctors. This was essential for me. I remember my therapist saying that without hope, the treatments you will be undergoing will be in vain. He also said that healing will only happen when you believe that your healthcare team is doing its best.

I know that for my father, when he was managing various health conditions, his efforts during and after therapy helped him to a quicker healing process. Listening to his doctors and following their instructions helped him recover rapidly.

The way you live your life will influence how soon you recover. This includes exercising and eating healthy foods. They will help you to heal.

Your decisions play a key role

It does not matter whether you have recently been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease or another life-threatening disease. Having a good healthcare team will have a significant impact on your recovery. Your mindset will decide how quickly you recover.

Your decisions will play an important role in keeping you alive during this process. My father got prostate cancer at the age of 72 along with throat cancer. He is now 90 and gets up every morning and takes his walk. Happy healing, everyone.
