Which Disease Is Causing You To Itch?

I have psoriasis and chronic kidney disease. Both of these can cause uncontrollable itching. I didn't know until recently that there was a connection between psoriasis and CKD.

If you have psoriasis you are at twice the risk of developing chronic kidney disease. I sure didn't see this coming.

Number 1, do you know if you're having a PsO itch or kidney itch? Number 2, do you have multiple illnesses that can cause you to get another illness? We would love to hear from you.

  1. Do you ever have any unexpected symptoms?

    1. WOW I had never heard this. That is so wild and just another thing to add to the crazy disease of CKD. How this disease affects our body really blows my mind.
I don’t have PsO but there have been times I do get very itchy on my back. This doesn’t happen a lot anymore as my diet has changed with the way that I’m eating.

      1. Hello the body is so complicated and we just don't know from one day to the next. I am with you I had never heard some of these things either, but glad that we are learning more. I talked to my doctors about both of these illnesses. I didn't get an answer that I was happy with. My derm said well if your PsO is in control, maybe the itch is not coming from that. 🙁 Are there any foods that make you itch more than others? Diane (Team Member)
