The Different Stages Of Chronic Kidney Disease - What Age Where You Diagnosed?

We all are at different stages and experience different things. I'm at stage 3a; age 65. There are days I feel like I can't go on.

My son is 45, stage 5, and does dialysis every day. He says it is mind over matter when it comes to certain things. He gets up every day and goes to work.

My father is 89, stage 3B, but said that he is a bundle of energy.

Stage 1: Kidney damage with normal or increased GFR (>90 mL
Stage 2: Mild reduction in GFR (60-89 mL
Stage 3a: Moderate reduction in GFR (45-59 mL
Stage 3b: Moderate reduction in GFR (30-44 mL
Stage 4: Severe reduction in GFR -15-29 mL
Stage 5: Kidney failure GFR < 15 mL

Do you feel that your kidney disease is affecting your energy and if so, how??

  1. I was 16 and I was stage 5 when I first got diagnosed but now I have a kidney transplant and I’m stable at stage 1 and it’s mostly of the medication but cjd symptoms does effect my my energy and I get fatigued bad but it’s hard to get a good nights sleep with having insomnia but I still have to fight and get up and take it day by day!
