This is a question that really can't be answered due to the fact there are so many variables with people with ckd and some have other diseases along with it also. Some folks take care of themselves and eat a renal diet and drink their recommended amount of water and might be able to slow it down and other's may not know to change their diet and continue eating as normal and it negatively effects their kidneys. This disease is hard and it brings a lot of emotions to the surface. I'm sensing you are stage 4 right now. I'm sorry you are feeling the feels that you are. Knowledge is everything so try to read as much as you can to prepare yourself but only read reputable article by hospitals or medical clinics or the ones we have on here. Here is an article on stage 4 and stage 5. https://chronic-kidney-disease.net/after-diagnosis
There are other articles too. https://chronic-kidney-disease.net/comorbidities

There are more but here are just a few. Big hugs and I hope you can speak to your nephrologist about this also. Keep fighting the good fight kidney warrior. Cindy Barton (Team Member)
