How important is routine to you with chronic kidney disease?

As with any illness, an effective routine can help reduce stress. I know personally for me a routine can lead to better mental health. I am 65 and recently retired. I thought I could just do what I wanted to. But I soon realized that with a routine, I was able to relax and feel less stressed. Routines like your sleep schedule, meals, and bedtime habits affect your mental sharpness, emotional well-being, and energy.

Is there anything that you do daily to stay on a routine?

  1. I don’t seem to be able to stay on a routine. With RA, CKD, OA, OP, and DSPS I can’t sleep normal hours between the severe fatigue and pain. OA pain for me is worse than RA pain. And very hard to make any plans bc I usually have to cancel.

    1. Hello , So sorry you are going through so much. I understand it's not easy. I got my first chronic illness at 5 years old. The pain is the worst. I take more medication than my father who is almost 90. I understand having to cancel plans. It was hard to get people to understand what I was going through. Do you find that people don't believe you when you say you just don't feel well? Thanks for sharing.

      1. Yes sometimes, they don’t say it but I can tell.
I’ve been I’ll for so long that I don’t let it interfere with what I have to do that’s best for me.
