Allergic reaction

Has anyone ever had any allergic skin reactions to medication or any substances used before having a scan? I have recently had a Ct scan which has left me with a really bad reaction due to having iodine via an intravenous method which on a whole is not good for kidney patients. I have also previously been given antibiotics which has lead me needing to spend long periods of time in hospital due to severe reactions.
