How does your chronic illness affect your ability to work!?

I feel this is a good topic to discuss as I have had many different occasions when I have been unable to work or had to take time off due to me having CKD and It hurts when friends and other people are talking about there jobs and I can’t involve myself in the conversation because I don’t have one! Has anyone else been in this situation?

  1. I ended up on long term disability from my position and retired in 2021. I was in stage 4 kidney disease and had multiple health issues including Type1diabetis with multiple amputations and congestive heart failure.

    1. Hi I liked to say, I'm sorry you had to go through what you did, it must have been hard. May I ask how are you doing with retirement and your health now?

  2. I am a diabetic and CKD Plus hypertension and high cholesterol. I just get really tired at times. I do private duty sitting for the elderly. If I had to work at a hospital or nursing home I could not do it. I have been a CNA for 31 years

    1. Hi . It's still amazing that you're working hard with your health conditions. I admire the strength you have, and I hope the times you do get tired and feel burnt out, you take time out for yourself and recover it's needed at times.

      Thanks
