will i be able to work once i start dialysis? just office work, no heavy lifting.

looking for feedback about working when you are on dialysis. no heavy lifting..just office work.

  1. I don't do dialysis myself but many of our community members do and they have a vast amount of experience working and living while on it. Here is one article that came up about one of our patient leader's experience with fitting dialysis into their work and home life: https://chronic-kidney-disease.net/living/fear-dialysis Also, there are a few forum posts you can check out here: https://chronic-kidney-disease.net/forums?term=dialysis&page=1 If there's anything else we can do, please ask, and remember, you are not alone! Keep on keepin' on, DPM

    1. I’m not on dialysis but I do see many folks who hold down jobs successfully. It may take some time for your body to adjust and get used to it just like Chemo was for my sister. At first she was very sick but then her body adjusted to the drug and now no more sickness. Your body maybe tired in the beginning but it will more than likely rebound and get better at dealing with the tiredness. Give yourself time and grace to adjust to this new part of your life. I hope everything goes well and you excel at it. I’m sure others who are going through this will respond. Keep us updated on your journey. Cindy (Team Member)
