What Is Restless Leg Syndrome?

This is something I have been dealing with for the past 30-plus years. I thought this was something normal that happens to everyone.

I was talking to my dietitian and this subject came up. I used to think it was because I didn't drink enough water. They would hurt so bad that 2 days later I could still feel the effects.

None of my healthcare team has ever brought this up. It will be at the top of my list for my next doctor appointments.

Has anyone ever experienced this? Do you do anything special to combat the pain? We would love to hear from you.

  1. At my last doctor's appointment, I asked my doctor about this again. She said she might be able to correct this by giving me an iron supplement pill. I have been on this pill for a few weeks and it seems to be helping. Has anyone else experienced restless leg syndrome? We would like to hear from you. Diane (Team Member)

    1. I’ve always been dealing with this but I’ve never had a name of it but I learn in the last year that it’s gotten worse mostly during night when I’m trying to sleep, I’ve even purchased a app to record my sleeping and it says the levels of my restless leg syndrome but it’s something I haven’t told my doctors as I’m not sure it was related to kidney disease.

      1. Hello , thanks for replying. I don't think mine is kidney-related since I've had it for so long. The pills I'm taking seem to be helping. How are you doing by the way? Diane (Team Member)

    2. I would love to know the name of the if possible, and I’m doing okay I’m trying a new way to bring my RLS down by doing 1; a hot compress 2; stretching my muscles 3; a walk for 30 minutes. So far I’ve been trying to keep doing that regularly to help but see how it goes and if I need medication.

      Thanks
