What are ways to offset the metallic taste in my mouth ?

I often has a persistent metallic taste in my mouth. Are there ways to neutralize it ?

  1. Hi , thank you for your question. I hope others may be able to chime in to share their experiences. Have you already tried gum? Also, you probably have, but if you haven't, it might be worth mentioning to your doctor. They may have some other suggestions as well. Please keep us updated if you find anything that helps you neutralize the metallic taste, as I'm sure there are others who can relate. Best, Minel (Team Member)

    1. Hey , great question, I experienced this before. This is what I tried:
-After brushing your teeth perform tongue scraping, you can find the tool at a drug store or Wal-Mart.
-If you aren't on fluid restrictions, hydrating as much as possible throughout the day.
-You can rinse your mouth out with baking soda and warm water, this really helped me before eating.
-Sucking on ice or ice pops (sugar free if you are diabetic).
-Lemon/Lime juice and other sour foods/flavors help mask the metallic taste as well.

I hope this helps! ~Jennifer (Team Leader)
