Stage 3-b CKD

I'm sick, nauseous, tired and weak, arthritis pain and spinal pain is getting unbearable anymore. How much time before I'm Stage 4? I cannot afford to eat Healthy Diet I'm on a fixed income and extreme budget. I'm diabetic 2, Bi-polar, manic depressive, scoliosis, D.D.D., and just a generally unwell person. How can I get help with the food situation?

  1. Hello CommunityMemberb50e77, So sorry you are going through so much. I notice that you said you are on a fixed income. I don't know where you're at, but we do have organizations that help with food. There are food pantries and churches that have a big supply. Are you seeing more than one healthcare professional? They usually gave lots of resources. There are things you can do to help you. My cousin has been in stage 3 for 24 years. Just take things one day at a time and don't give up. I know it's hard. I have had several chronic illnesses for decades. We are strong enough to endure. Remember, you are not alone. Diane (Team Member)

    1. Thank you for the encouragement Diane (Team Member)

      1. Very hard to eat healthy on fixed income. Food banks do not include healthy choices.

        1. Hi , thanks for chiming in! Yes, that's a good point, healthy food can be really expensive and harder to get. If anyone has any tips for money-saving tips on healthy food, I'm sure everyone would be all ears. I've been trying to buy more frozen fruit, which tends to be cheaper than the fruit in the produce section. Best, Minel (Team Member)

      2. Yes I also by frozen fruit. Better for my diabetes too.
