How has chronic kidney disease impacted you during the holidays?

As we move into fall and winter, there are usually quite a few family gatherings and holidays celebrated. I'm curious to know if chronic kidney disease has impacted how you celebrate the holidays. And if yes, in what ways?

I was scared to eat anything but salad. I didn't know exactly what to eat since we were eating at a relative's and they heavy salt everything..

Oh wow that must of been really hard to do, maybe for the next holiday tell them what you can’t have I mean I would hope that they can understand and make an extra dish for you? What do you think is that something possible?
Wish all the best,
Thanks Sabad

I am having a terrible time staying with what I should eat. I just tell myself that I’ll have a Thanksgiving dinner and eat better on Friday! I was so good about good Kidney foods but am now sick of doing it! Help!

, I hear you! It is really hard. How did Thanksgiving go for you? Also, not sure if you already do, but if you have access to one, a renal dietitian could be a helpful resource to you. It seems like you know what foods to eat, but they might have some more inspiration if you're feeling sick of it because finding something that is sustainable is also important.
