Can Losing Weight And Exercise Improved Kidney Functions?

Well, of course, it does. I read an article recently that said most people with CKD will die from a heart condition before reaching dialysis. A healthy diet and exercise greatly reduce cardiovascular risks for 98% of people.

What are your thoughts on this? We would like to hear from you. Diane (Team Member)

  1. you are correct. Everything I have read also points to the heart causing death before the kidneys. I have started doing a stretching class at the YMCA (this class helps more with my osteoporosis I guess than my heart but it’s something!). I also do a abs class and a kind of Pilates class. Now that Pilates class is hard for me and sometimes I have to stop because I get dizzy due to the way my head or neck is positioned. I sometimes get vertigo. Anyway…YES we all need to work on our heart health. I think I’ll go take a walk now it 82 outside and not too hot yet! LOL

    1. , I have osteoporosis too. Right now the most I do is get on my stationary bike. I can take short walks. Can you believe I started out running track in high school until psoriatic arthritis decided to kick in? Boy, a lot has changed in my life and I'm still young. (66) We are having a beautiful day here in Maryland also. Stay pain-free!!!
