Hello , Thanks so much for replying. If I don't understand many things in life I understand what you are saying. I got my first chronic illness in 1963. I was 5. I didn't realize that people looked at me any differently until my mid-teens. I was told so many times where my place was in society. I was in my mid-30s when I realized this was not right and met my husband. We advocated together and were able to look at some of my medical records. It was at that point that everyone said my pain was in my head, but the crazy part was that I had a severe case of psoriasis that covered over 80% of my body and I never got better.
I finally figured out that I had to take care of myself. I started looking for a doctor who looked past the color of my skin. I did find one. He has been around for 25 years now. But back to my question, I have been able to get access to some of my medical records, and still not happy about some of the comments. Thanks for sharing some of your journey. We are all in this together. Diane (Team Member)
