CKD and 2 Transplants

I was born in 1963 with end stage renal disease (ESRD). I was only projected to live until I was 9. Today, I write this at 60 years old. I am going on almost 23 years of my 2nd transplant. My 1st kidney transplant was in 1978 to 2000. Talk about longevity with 20 plus years for each transplant. But that's not all!

I have had 4 children and 2 of them were fraternal twins born in 1995! The other 2 were my boys, Robert and Michael. I represented the Vikings Children Fund in 1977 with my dad, Mike Lynn, general manager of the MN Vikings. I was blessed to do a commercial with the Vikings then quarterback, Tommy Kramer. We emphasized kidney donation, which was far less successful than today.

Both of my transplants were from non living donors who were young men from Minnesota and the second transplant came from Oklahoma, OK. In those days, very little was revealed to me. I wish their families knew the good life I have been given through these generous donations.
