I've had two kidney transplants, I had my current one (second one) in Oct 2020. I found it more mentally draining as I had been there for more than a month, as the kidney wasn't waking up as the doctors called it and had to go through a dialysis session but was very blessed that it did start working and not needing any more dialysis.

I have had two transplants one in 2012 and my second one in 2013 very scary experience not knowing weather you will wake up from the surgery weather it would be successful, after my second one it was a great feeling knowing I could get my life back on track again

My first year was really hard. But I had complications that were related to my immune disorder. I had to be hospitalized several times because I don't make enough white blood cells and the immune suppressants made me so sick. We had to balance both treatments and get on the right page. The second year was a lot easier and it made that first year worth it.
