Anyone have a growth on kidneys? Benign or Cancer?

Urologist is watching a growth on my kidneys. About 2cm now. I am worried about cancer there. Wondering if other people have growths that aren't cancer.

  1. I have kidney stones they are watching not a growth. Again, I’m all about doing my own research and would ask in a search bar “is a 2cm growth on my kidney something to be worried about”. Could it be a kidney cyst or has your urologist ruled that out? What test did your urologist order to find the growth? Please be aware of doing tests that require using contrast dyes. Here is an article about it.

Sorry there are so many questions about our kidney health and staying on top of our health and fighting for our right to be healthy. Ask questions and push for answers. Cindy (TM)

    1. That article says a problem if eGFR is 30 or below. My last test said 51. So will have to do more research!

    2. I understand. I’m not below thirty I’m actually 37 now but when I had the test I was in the 40’s and they still used the alternative stuff to appease me. 🥰 Cindy (TM)

  2. Had CT, now she wants an MRI. I called the lab doing it and asked if they planned to use contrast or not. Said they don't decide till a month before. I told them to call me a month before. If they want contrast, I'm going to say NO. Thought urologist wanted CT before and then suggested MRI cause she knew I didn't want more radiation. Then when I found out about the dye, emailed her and asked if I could get a CT instead, she said she'd rather have the mri! But I'll say no to the contrast. If it grows to 3 or more cm, she wants to do biopsy.

    1. I'll give link to urologist if they recommend dye when I tell her I do not want it.

    2. sounds like a plan. Stay strong Cindy (TM)
