I know this sounds silly, but ask. People can't look at another person and know they need a kidney. My son needs a kidney, but most people don't know he does, because he doesn't share this information.
It may be hard to talk about, but needing a kidney to live is nothing to be ashamed of. Share your story with others. Write down what you want to say and practice saying it.
