How Is Your Personal Relationship With Friends And Family Since CKD Diagnosis?

I have heard people say that friends and friends treat them differently after telling them they have chronic kidney disease. When you are ill relationships can experience changes in roles, responsibilities, physical, and emotional needs, and intimacy.

The one thing I feel is having a 2-way communication helps family and friends adapt as changes occur in us.

What is your take on this? Have you lost family and friends and how do you feel about that? Do you feel this is a private matter?

  1. I’m 28 and I got to the point of keeping health matters private especially if we are in the middle of investigation of illness and other symptoms but if I’m okay I will tell them I’m all okay and if I’m not I will tell them it’s hard right now without all the details and say when I know more I will tell you as the doctors need to do their jobs. Over the years I get unsolicited advice or the biggest one is your lazy or don’t eat health enough even once maybe stop taking the medication, so at this point If I’m not in hospital as a inpatient I tend it keep it to myself, it’s easier to deal with.

    1. Hello , I have also been called lazy also. I'm with you, sometimes it's best to keep things to yourself.
