Khiry Rowe-Hopkins
My name is Khiry Rowe-Hopkins and I am 32 years old. I was first diagnosed with lupus in 2009 when I was 18 years old. Both of my kidneys were attacked and I have since gone on to have two kidney transplants, one in 2012 and another one in 2013. I had dialysis in between both of the transplants for 10 months.
I have also been through chemotherapy, suffered from a triple heart attack, as well as having an ileostomy bag, over the last 5 years. I have spent a lot of time in the hospital, so I feel that I have a story to tell and I hope to inspire and help anyone that may be struggling with being diagnosed with lupus and CKD. Hopefully, I can make some friends and be inspired by other peoples journeys!
